Highly recommended! I was at first skeptical about this place since the reviews didn’t look that great. We decided to give it a try because there wasn’t much of a queue when we passed by and we weren’t that hungry anyway. It turned out to be one of the meals we enjoyed a lot in Barcelona! Everything we ordered was delicious, especially the chips with scrambled eggs and the lobster rice (available for lunch). I love flavorful food so if you’re the same, I highly recommend giving this place a try!
Highly recommended! The staff is very nice. we waited less than 5 minutes and got the table at the terrace. Must try menu is honey cod fish. The taste was so good. Aside, the classic Al Ajillo also delicious.
If we avoid Spanish lunch/dinner time, we don't need to wait to be seated. We love baguette with Spanish ham which is serving for breakfast/lunch. We ordered small tapas, beef with foie grad, shrimp in oliveoil, cod fish with honey etc. All were good. One old guy talked poor English but excellent service. Service is quite fast so good for tourists who don't have so much time to eat. Just one block from Catalunya pl.
I am so glad that I found this place via Google. Within the same day I went twice! Amazing food, positive energy and super friendly staff. Usually there is a queue but it moves relatively fast as there are many seats inside and the staff will try their best to arrange a seat for guests. I went in around 2pm (lunch) and 12am (supper), the restaurant is still packed with people. If you a looking for a trendy and lively restaurant. I will recommend this place.
Even though we arrived during a very busy period, we got a table on the terrace in less than five minutes. The staff was amazing, very kind and always ready to offer recommendations. They have a daily tapas menu, and everything is fresh. We had the best tapas here in Barcelona! We even came back the next day with our friends. The dessert, torrijada cremada de St. Teresa, is something you absolutely need to try!
On our most recent trip to Barcelona we had multiple meals at Ciutat Comtal! In fact we had 3 meals in 3 days! There's a reason for that and it's because of the outstanding service, delicious food and incredible value. We were most impressed by their lovely and charming maitre'd Shirley who remembered us and our names after only meeting us after the first day! Even though it was incredibly busy, she was able to efficiently seat us with minimal delay. The first time at the bar where we could enjoy the excitement, hustle and bustle and the other times in the quiet room of the back and the intimate loft upstairs. She and the rest of staff are incredibly charming and we had magnificent meals with great service every time which is why we kept coming back. If we were here for a fourth day, we would be back again! We had an absolutely magnificent meal. Incredible value and everything was extremely fresh especially the seafood. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. We like to have some aioli and Tabasco with our fried seafood in addition to a spritz of lemon. Wash it all down with a tonic or beer and this was a perfect tapas lunch. I think we're going to be back for dinner!
Came at around 6 pm on a weekday in December and no wait! I heard from a friend in Barcelona that you don’t need a reservation as long as you come before 8/9 ish. But there were lots of people inside. It’s a very big restaurant that is super nicely decorated. Great ambiance. Our waiter was funny, nice, and had great recommendations. We got the cod with honey, pan con tomate, patatas bravas, fried calamari, and Spanish omelette. All were amazing but my favorite was probably the omelette. And for dessert we got torrijas de Santa Teresa which was amazing. Highly recommend, definitely very authentic and great and good price too!
